• Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
• Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
• Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
• Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
• Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
• Checks orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
• May provide direction to a team of checking personnel, ensuring the mathematical accuracy of the drawings produced.
• Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Provides technical guidance including training to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
• Shall carryout technical design reviews, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
• Collaborates with Engineers and other engineering disciplines to ensure quality of design.
• Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordination of data to ensure a compatible design.
• May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.Understands and applies commonly used company design standards and methods.
• May assist in the establishment or revision of guidelines and standards.
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Job Requirements

• 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 10 years of related work experience.
• Professional Engineer registration may be required.
• Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with drainage engineering is required.
• In particular must be proficient with 3d drainage design software and the interfaces with other up to date design software such as Civil3D, MX, Inroads, AutoCad, and Microstation.
• Relationships Reports to the Drainage Manager.
• Coordinates with the other Senior Engineers from Other Disciplines.
• Coordinates with Clients key staff and all Authorities in connection with obtaining NOCs.

Job title – Structural Engineer

 

Job purpose :

Basic and detailed engineering of offshore structures

Provide technical and project execution services

 

Reporting lines and interactions:

Functionally reports to:  HOD-Structural

 

Key interactions (internally, externally):

Internally:Lead Discipline Engineer, Other site discipline field engineers

Externally:Sub-contractors, vendors.

 

Job scope (budget, management, specific criteria): Accountability for day to day site engineering issues.

 

Profile:

Must have:

Bachelor degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering

Minimum 5 to 10 years’ design consultancy experience of offshore platforms

Expertise on SACS

Familiarity with International codes and standards – API RP 2A, AISC, DNV

Excellent communication skills (both writing and speaking)

Nice to have:

Post-Graduation in Offshore Engineering / Ocean Engineering (Preferable)

Experience in GRLWEAP, STAAD Pro., ANSYS, MOSES

Experience in the design of floating offshore structures

 

Main Accountabilities:

Performing structural analyses and design

Design of Fixed offshore platforms

Jacket

Topside

In-place fatigue analysis (both deterministic and spectral)

Re-assessement of existing platforms

Design for transportation, lift, on-bottom stability

Design of boat landing,

Design of protector structures

Design of different types of connections, pad-eyes, clamps etc.,

Miscellaneous brown field Design Works

Checking of engineering reports and drawings

Preparation of design basis

Experience in offshore site surveys and report preparation
